Hello again. It has been suggested to me that I try to contact Dr. Michael Charness in Boston so that he could refer me to someone in my area. Supposedly he has many contacts around the country. Since many of you have mentioned his name on this message board, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some contact information ,like an email address, or a real address where i could write him. THank you in advance. |

Hi JamieYou will find a listing of Movement Disorder Specialists (Neurologists) up on the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation's website under the Healthcare Referral link. http://www.dystonia-foundation.org
Since dystonia (all types) is considered a neurological movement disorder and it is 'rare', it is imperative that you see a Movement Disorder Specialist familiar with dystonia! I strongly suggest this. You don't want to subject yourself to the possibility of unnecessary oral medications, incorrectly done Botox/MYOBLOC injections, etc.
Good luck.
