Edit
i always dread going for appointments for other issues, this time it was an optometrist and i was seeing a different one now so we didn't have to travel, just one in town. i used to go to her about 16yrs ago but found she was quite abruff. she has changed alot and i was treated very respectfully and gently. my leg doesn't stay still, but i told her straight up i have dystonia and essential tremor since birth, this is another newie because 16yrs ago i didn't have this knowledge to tell her. I wonder if this helped me this time.
I think knowledge about your disorder is worth it's weight in gold and it matters that you have a name for it.
If i have to have surgery on my eyes as i do have a small growth i asked will i need to be put to sleep when and if that happens because most people are awake. she said with your condition yes. I said that's great because when i sleep i'm still.
Another great thing is she was able to take great photos of my eyes because my eyes stay still, and her saying that made me stay still too. positiveness does help.
so it was a great outcome and i always used to skite that i had great eyesite but now i have to wear glasses for reading closeup stuff. as i do my cross word puzzles on the floor the words blur because it's closer to my eyes, so with my new glasses coming shouldn't be a blur now. I didn't think i would be so excited to get reading glasses.
my eyes are healthy too so it was a very worthwhile appointment to keep.
