Hi Akasha, I have Dopa-Responsive Dystonia (DRD) also. The one thing I can tell you is that while I was waiting to have a hysterectomy due to very large fibroids. My symptoms progress very rapidly downward. The 8-9 months it took for my insurance company to finally approve my surgery was a nightmare and during that time is when my walking went from a slight limp to a slow and uneasy shuffle.
I have never heard that there is an actual link between DRD and hormones but to me I would say that there seems to be.
