Edit
My son was diagnosed in October with dystonia. He is one of at least five grandchildren with it. He and my neice are in the same class and hers has progressed very quickly but his hasn't. He is suffering in his own way but feels unoticed because hers is so bad. He works so hard at hiding his and keeps it secret(he still can) yet feels bad because nobody affirms what he is going through. How do you deal with this when it's not that noticeable to others but you see him struggle every day and get frustrated and have to deal with pain? We can't walk around telling everyone what he's going through but he doesn't act like he used to. I have gotten him tom agree he needs to let people know and we are doin a presentation for his class on Monday. I think it's easier in a way when people can obviously see your struggles...they are more copassionate. I don't wish for him to be worse- this is just such an awkward time.
