Hello Tanja!
So sorry you are having such a hard time. Medication for "us" may not be a "cure" but.. they do help the symptoms (dramatically in some cases) and it does take trial and error to find the right meds that will help you. So don't give up hope on the medications even though you might get frustrated with the process. I take Neurontin and if I didn't... I would be in a hospital being cared for because I would be a twisted mess unable to care for myself. I can understand getting a little stressed about "people looking at you". Try thinking of the people that are looking at you as if they are looking at someone beautiful and can't keep their eyes off of your beauty. I think some people stare because they feel pity?.. maybe?... but then you might find that they are looking at you out of curiosity since Dystonia isn't as well known as other neurological disorders. You should never feel as if you are less of a person because of something another person does, says, or possibly thinks. You deserve to feel better about yourself and don't worry about other people ... they don't live with you. Keep your spirits up and always think positive about yourself! Hope that you start feeling better soon! Take care of yourself Hugs Candis |
