hi ther yk, i hadn't heard of your condition, there are so many people out there with many different types of writing problems. I think some people assume that all parents can write well, maybe i am the only one in our town who writes the way i do, I really don't believe that.
I grew up with kids who didn't have a tremor but had terrible writing and spelling, i think my spelling is great most of the time. My own brother's writing wasn't very neat and he used to eat his pens for goodness sakes. But my brother is a qualified panel beater and a carpenter. He was told by his teacher in the 1970's in a maths class that it didn't matter if his maths wasn't too good because he'd probably just be a panelbeater like his father. Wow my shy mum turned a new leaf and marched down to that teacher and asked what is wrong with being a panelbeater and how did he get his car repaired. And it's heaps more exciting than going over the same stuff day and day as a teacher would. So I think i will be going down to the principal myself and not involve my son and just tell her, hey i have been to school and i can write well enough, and i have a disability with a tremor in both hands too, and it's a miracle or on my part and teachers i had with my parents in tow that i can write as well as i can. If i stop writing because the teacher says it's so rough it looks like the cat wrote it, i will lose my ability altogether, and my son will have less permission slips signed. as i now use the computer more and more i am writing less as it is. anyway it's just a signature, and filling in my sons name and class. i just can't believe this has come about really. My sister says to go to the school and tell the teacher yes i have a disability that affects my writing but i'm so great, I laughed so hard at that, we both were in fits, it was so funny.so that made me feel heaps better and ready to confront this woman on monday, then i am off to the hairdressess to get some highlights.I'm out and about. karen |
