To get "knowledgable" treatment, you need to see a Neurological Physiotherapist. The extra training they have received is about knowing dystonia is "brain based" and on-going, rather than from an "injury" that is going to get better.
The therapist has to know that however much hard work and care they give, the condition is on-going. That can be very disheartening for a therapist. An ordinary one expects their care will make you better. The best thing my neurophysio did for me and my C.D. was to tell me about eye tracking exercises and give me a selection of core stability to work on. I do these most days, even though I am now greatly improved.
Sensible advise given was that you can do anything in the way of massage and exercise unless it sets the dystonic symptoms off. But with any massage and exercise, I think we can expect to feel some discomfort for a day or too without worrying. Its if it lasts longer, then it was maybe the wrong sort or too much.
