Edit
Hi, Dianea!

I don't know what formula of hydrocodone they're giving you, but I was put on hydrocodone (generic for Lortab/Acetaminophen) for pain in 2006. My side effects included nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, mood swings, irritability and constipation among other things. I switched to Oxycodone (generic for Percocet/Acetaminophen) and my side effects greatly improved. I switched at the request of my significant other because he could not handle the mood swings and irritability any longer.

I have taken Parafon Forte in the past with out problem. It does cause some drowsiness.

Whoever mentioned Cyclobenzaprine that's generic for Flexeril. I am, currently, taking Flexeril, Percocet, and Ativan (generic is Lorazapam) for Dystonia. They tried Buspar( generic is Busoprine) and it got worse, in fact, it may have even caused it in the first place, Klonopin, and Baclofen. Of course, they have tried to get me to take Botox. I, also, take Ranitadine (generic for Zantac) for the side effects of my other medications.

Since there is some need by the others to clarify Hydrocdone's classification, it is a Narcotic, an Opiate to be exact. It comes from the Opium Poppy Seed. Feel free to research narcotics, opiates, opium poppy seed, anti-inflamtories all you want.

Please tell me that your post has a typo or explain why the ---- your doctor wants you to take 2,000mg of Hydrocodone and/or Parafon Forte a day? Maybe, 2,000mg of Acetaminophen a day, but Hydrocodone and/or Parafon Forte I don't understand that high of a dosage. You are right to be concerned. Please be careful because, as with all narcotics, the last sentence of your side effects sheet probably includes symptom of an over dose include coma and death. So, please be careful.

Addiction is a concern, too. However, I'm a little more concerned with possible over dose at this point. Talk to your pharmacist before taking this dosage combination of the medications.

I haven't chimed in much lately or read many posts, but I'm glad I read this one. Please take care and be aware.

Be blessed and be beautiful!

Love,

Stuck Neck
