Thanks, you guys are really organized! I need to get more efficient about logging progress.I've been taking a similar approach. A chunk of my practice these days is devoted to practicing linear ascending consecutive patterns or scales. For some reason for me that is the trigger. Very strange since I can play much more technically complicated intervallic stuff fairly easily.
When I actually play to make music, I try not to think about it too much and but try and alternate between the modified technique and standard technique. It seems like I'm at the stage where I can use standard technique for the problem patterns a few times but not repititively and consistently. Beyond a certain point the flow of control seems to break down and the dystonic thing kicks in again. Unfortunately I tend to be hypercritical about this stuff so its sometimes hard for me to view my overall progress objectively. A lot of this has to do with taming your emotional response to the problems and confronting them without being frustrated by the sensations. Thats definitely one of the hardest things for me!
