Could you guys explain what you mean by Fabras' thoughts on tension? 'Fighting' tension is one thing - what Greg is saying, and fighting anything with FD is complete waste of time, but Rob says this:
"I had lapsed a little because I had let myself fall back into the trap of judging and avoiding tension."Now *avoiding* tension is something rather different. From what I understand of Farias' approach (not Fabras) it appears to absolutely central to his method. I am getting really positive results by playing unpicking the different tensions that contribute to the overall FD pattern, allowing my fingers to play freely and naturally. No fighting, just playing very slowly and delicately and feeling the total relaxtion in one finger before the next begins to play.
Avoiding unwanted tension is what its all about, surely?
