Edit
I'm 18 years old and have been recently told that I have FD. I started playing bass guitar at the age of 13. My uncle was given the same diagnosis about 20 years ago and has it in the same two fingers (ring and pinky on the left hand). He was a guitarist and gave up playing after about 3 years of trying to cope with it. I have figured that this was the problem that I was having for about the past two years, but was only recently given a diagnosis. I thinking that my injury might have initially started off as a nerve impingement which later brought out FD. I have stopped playing entirely but can still play about 50% of what I could before. I have been playing a little lap slide guitar lately, but have noticed my index and middle finger begin to feel cramping after holding the slide. I have never had symptoms in these two fingers.

I do not seem to have a task specific dystonia. I have some degree of muscle tightness all the time. My entire left hand feels kind of tight. Is this common?

I recently just read Jason W. Solomon's article, "What Every Guitarist Should Know: A Guide to the Prevention and Rehabilitation of Focal Hand Dystonia." I am wondering if there is any other similar material that might be helpful. I am interested in trying some retraining techniques.
