No, it is uncommon to feel tightness all the time. Musicians dystonia is an occupational cramp and and is usually task specific. Symptoms can appear in other similar activities, particularly if you have the wrong approach i.e. trying to fight or physically resist it. See thread below about it appearing in another hand.
