Hi guys, Since my diagnosis with dystonia of the hand a few weeks ago I have been looking into the condition and seeing links between the way my hand feels and the way my shoulder and neck feels. I've always had neck pain... a symptom of being a fairly tensed up person and holding my tension in my shoulders I guess, but since around the time my hand starting playing up I've also had a really bad pain in my shoulder, under the shoulder blade, a kind of stabbing ache. Before the dystonia diagnosis I went for Physio - didn't help, I went to a chiro - didn't help. Also my neck is massively tight and tensed, more so on right side than left. I don't get spasms that I can really identify, but my right shoulder IS slightly pulled forwards. My thinking is... is this "secondary", linked to the dystonic hand problem. Or is is a focal dystonia of the neck/shoulder - i.e. a cervical dystonia? I guess it would help to hear your guys thoughts on what other ache and pains you've had that you've linked to problems in your hand/arm. Any thoughts very welcome. Be well, Gareth |
