Edit
Hi all, I am absolutetly glad to tell you that I got a full recovery of my left fretting hand after 9 years of suffering this condition.

I am in the middle of a personal campain (within my possibilities) to show the world that "musician's focal dystonia" is completely reversible and to stop this virus that spreads the word "incurable" all over the world.

I can understand that medical community didn't find a treatment but I can not understand how come they are not aware of other succesful methods. Probably because of scientific blindness, ego or pride?? well not all medical cummunity is the same, I found a book published in year 2000, yes 2000, that already explained that treatment of "musician's focal dystonia" was possible and that it wasn't incurable. The books is "Medical Problems of the Instrumentalist Musicians" by Raoul Tubiana and Peter C. Amadio (ISBN 1853176125) Now tell me, don't other medics know how to read or what?? or is this 600 pages medical book just a product of my imagination?

I talk about this book because people tend to blindly believe in scientifics (and that's why most people keeps thinking this is incurable, including me in the past) but the truth is that I recovered by following the therapy methods of Prof. Joaquín Fabra (FABRA FABRA not Farias) who's been helping people to get out of this problem since 20 years ago or so but.. it seems this it not known by most people or since he's a musician and not a scientific most people don't believe in his treatment... I don't really know... (I didn't really believe in his treatment my self, it seems I am part of this sick society after all).

You can see a short video documentary I did about my full recovery on youtube, it's a series of 2 videos of little more than 7 minutes each. The link to the first video is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GU4IuKSMAkQ

Please fellow musician's, getting out is difficult but completely possible, don't believe the oppossite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!

Sebastián

EDIT: I'll try to make a video explaining the technics or strategies used in the process, as someone just asked me through my youtube profile, but I need time to do it, it's difficult to know how to explain it clearly enough in a video.

Meanwhile what I can tell you is that accepting the dystonic movement and not trying to control it in any way is an important part of the process, stop fearing it, you already know it's there, accept it an let it go, don't anticipate what's going to happen before you make the movement, let it happen, be curious about it. You don't have to fight against the tension and you can not base your treatment on controling the movement. Let it flow while you send the order of movement as if you don't have any problem and try to remember the feeling of the normal movement. Have the real intention of performing the movement with the conviction of playing the note not of not missing the note.

EDIT: I've been reading a lot today this forum, and I am not saying nothing that hasn't been said before here, those words I say are Joaquín Fabra's words and everything I've read on this forum regarding Fabra's method is the way it really is and refers to the same concepts I am talking.
There's even way much better explanations on the concept made by other members, the problem is that everything is so mixed up in this forum that it seems difficult for someone that just gets to it to be able to get some good information easily.
