Edit
Correction - I'm an almost! I think...

Full technique is not quite there - I cannot play tremolo at required speed or something like Villa Lobos Etude 1, which the CG players here will recognise as both requiring perfect finger independence and control. Having said that, I did not achieve either of these when I came down with FD (obsessive tremolo and fast arpeggio patters werer a key factor.)

I would say, however, that I am no longer personally concerned with any notion of 'FD exercises' or even 'recovery'. I am taking lessons once more and my practice is basically the same as any intermediate-advanced CG student would be - warm up, etudes, scales, arpeggios, current pieces being studied, polishing older pieces etc. - and I am seeing pretty much the same level of return on the work I put in. I do a lot of work with a metronome and I can see very clearly the progress I make as I review and up my practice speeds every ten days or so.

Having lived with FD for nine miserable years, I actually find it quite odd to now think of myself as someone who 'had' FD.

By the way, there are several people who stated they recovered on this board and have long since moved on. I read their stories when I first joined. Sadly, the archives no longer go back that far. A shame because the same information gets repeated over and over again.

HKC58, a concert pianist from China occasionally pops by and his recovery story is well worth reading, it helped me to 'join the dots'. I am not sure if his article can still be accessed, but I am sure he would repost. I have it on my hard drive.

Another thing, not many here realise that Joaquin Fabra used to post here too :-)
