Edit
That's a good point - for the last nine years I have been using an adapted technique to play - just playing with forefinger and thumb with the rest of my fingers held in my palm. So you are right, my middle and ring fingers simply have not been used to play for all that time.

Fabra posted advice here to help someone with embouchure dystonia. One of the board moderators challenged him, insisting that it was impossible to recover from embouchure dystonia and challenged him to describe his methods. Fabra did this, and the moderator dismissed it as nonsense, saying that embouchure dystonia was an incurable neurological disease, not soemthing that could be treated pyschologically, and that Fabra must be seeing something else in the people he claimed to be helping. It got more heated and Fabra left, he has not posted since.

In the early days of this board, the moderators used to do this - step in and give their own view. They no longer do this, but they remove posts they do not agree with and that they feel contravene the rules of the board that we sign up to. This includes removing posts involving, for example, publicising a workshop that someone like Fabra or Farias might be giving, as this is intrepreted as 'advertising' and against the board's rules. I have had several disagreements with them about this policy.

Of course, this was years ago and since then Fabra has posted information on his website and as you know posted dozens of videos of musicians he has helped with all kinds of focal dystonia. Hardly a week goes by without someone (like you) dropping in her and telling us how much they have moved on since seeing Fabra or Farias for that matter(I think the latter is an equally important figure and impressive in terms of heloping musicians recover from FD).
