Edit
On the contrary Jonny that's very helpful and exactly the sort of thing I need to hear.

I am going to reduce the dose to 20mg of the Citalopram that I am on, and see how I go. I'd really rather come off them entirely, but we will have to see how that works out.

Unfortunately my dystonia affects more than just guitar playing - at its worst my index finger claws up all the time and it affects everything I try to do with my right hand. I don't know if I would classify as pure "musician's dystonia" but one thing I am learning is that there aren't really classifications in this disorder, every case is different to the next, as much as every human is different to the next!

I am totally convinced that approach to movement, approach to life in general, is a factor in this dystonia. I feel that my dystonia is my body's expression of an inner tension, an anxiety if you like. It is the build up of approaching life / movement / thought in a certain way for my entire adult life.

I'd love to hear your methods / experiences, as it sounds like you have a similar attitude to me. Despite suffering with this for the past 2 years I was only diagnosed a few months ago and am still at the very beginning of my journey to understand what are the best things to do for myself.

Thanks,

Gareth
